• Remembrance of Franki

  It's hard to put into words all the feelings we had for our Franki. He was Daddy's best buddy and Mommy's sweetheart. Everyone who ever met Franki loved him. VCA has been fantastic with not only Franki but our other two cats as well. After two very involved intestinal surgeries, one of which was done at VCA Barcroft Cat Hospital, we unfortunately lost our baby. Putting Franki to sleep was the hardest thing we've ever had to do. The vets and staff at VCA made it as bearable as possible with their deepest concern and compassion for not only Franki but for his Mommy and Daddy as well. They sent us a special gift of Franki's paw print which we will treasure until we see him again. We wholeheartedly recommend this cat hospital for all your feline needs.

  Boarding Bob the Cat

  I am new to cat ownership, and this past Thanksgiving was the first time I have boarded our new pet, "Bob the Cat". We are Bob's third owner and he is very timid, plus I was afraid he might think we were giving him up so I had many reservations and concerns about who would board Bob. With some luck and maybe a little divine feline intervention I met the good people at VCA Barcroft. Not only did they make me and my family feel comfortable about the boarding process, they walked us thru a normal day for Bob during his stay. The staff was very professional and answered all our questions. To my delight we picked up a very happy, clean and healthy cat when we returned. I, and "Bob the Cat", happily endorse and recommend VCA Barcroft to any and all cat owners.

  Dr. Bazemore is simply the best

  My 5 year old male kitty CoCo passed away from Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy 2 months ago and my 9 yr old girl Riley began throwing up for 2 days straight. Clearly it was time for medical intervention, but I felt I need to change vets and take her to a feline specific practice. I found VCA Barcroft with Dr. Bazemore and her caring staff and I knew things were going to be okay. Under Dr. Bazemore's care, Riley thrived and is doing well. I have adopted cats for many years and have interacted with a variety of veterinarians; Dr. Bazemore is by far the best. If it were not for her, I am positive Riley would not be here with me today. She explained each procedure and test she felt necessary to diagnose Riley's ailment and because I could not afford to have every test and procedure completed at once, she worked with me to develop a prioritized list - how refreshing. The office staff members are knowledgeable and engaging and are the heart of the practice. I cannot say enough about VCA Barcroft - this is simply the best veterinary practice in Northern Virginia.

  Cheddar loves VCA Barcroft

  We have boarded our pet cat "Cheddar" several times with Barcroft VCA with great success. Our pet has always been well cared for and any special needs have been met with expediency. The service and communication from the staff and Doctors has always been excellent and they have been quick to respond to us regarding any concerns we may have had about the health and happiness of our pet. The office/clinic is both clean and well maintained and the play areas for the animals are large and filled with interactive landscapes and activities so our little "trouble-maker" never gets bored or ignored.   LOVE VCA BARCROFT

  I have been bringing my cats (first one and then three) to VCA Barcroft for about seven years. I wanted to have a clinic that focused only on cats to care for my beloved Zack when I traveled. Little did I expect that I would find such a loving, amazing group of people who are not only passionate about their work but wonderful at making human connections in their pet-focused work. Over time, they have helped my husband and I navigate the loss of our giant cat Charles to cancer and our frisky kitten additions Dexter and Oliver to keep our survivor Leon company. They provide a happy, fun, and calm atmosphere for both person and feline.

  Brought our newly adopted five year old Torti, Aki, to Barcroft in November for initial consultation. Dr. Bazemore did the needed basics but importantly spent a LOT of time addressing special concerns such as Aki's known urinary crystal problem as well as general feeding recommendations. Also, I appreciated not being pushed into additional tests, etc. that had troubled us w/ our previous cat at another vet clinic.
  
  On a visit this week to pick up more special food (their foods are competitively priced, plus I'm happy to support them), Dr. Bazemore once again took the time to further instruct me as to Aki's condition and eating requirements. I have most appreciated the attention Dr. Bazemore and her staff have given to me and Aki and am very comfortable having Barcroft as my vet clinic. Good people!

  I just wanted to thank the VCA Barcroft staff! I had called with concerns of my cat, Sassy. Tami and Danielle were able to answer my questions and were extremely helpful. I am now a proponent of Revolution. I thought that because my cat was strictly indoors, I didn't need to worry about fleas. I thought wrong! Thank you Dr. Bazemore, Sassy is happy again!   I moved here from overseas with two cats and adopted one cat here in VA I chose this vet because they are cats only. I have been committed to using an all-cat vet since doing so in Florida many years ago.
  
  I have had visits with both Dr. Bazemore and Dr. McDivitt and they are both excellent. Dr. McDivitt has the BEST bed-side manner! My cats LOVE her. In fact, my boy Jack is better behaved for her than for me! She is SO patient and sweet with my kitties and treats them just like members of the family. Both doctors are excellent with advice and very patient. Wonderful doctors and helpful staff! Friendly and approachable.

  Dr. Basemore Saved Nugget's Life

  We can not say enough kind things about the wonderful staff at VCA Barcroft and in particular, Dr. Basemore. Our beloved cat, Nugget, was recently faced with a life threatening condition and if it had not been for the knowledge and quick actions of Dr. Basemore Nugget would not be here today. Dr. Basemore was able to immediately identify his condition and provide the proper interventions that saved his life and got him on the road to recovery. Post-surgery, Dr. Basemore would take the time to personally call us and check up on his condition and continue to provide guidance and recommendations to ensure he would be healthy following his ordeal. Her advice has been spot-on thus far and we can not thank her enough. He is now happy and playful as ever and was able to celebrate the coming of 2011 with us! Thanks again to Dr. Basemore and all of the VCA staff.
