I don't know how to say thank you to the staff at VCA Avalon and Dr. Delong. My dog, Scooter, was brought in on an emergency and they saw me right away even though I had never been before. Because he wasn't displaying any symptoms at the time the Dr asked to keep him for observation. During this time the doctor called me with every update on my precious baby and I felt very informed even during a very stressful situation. The next day the Dr. called me first thing in the morning and informed me that he was not improving. After rushing to the hospital the staff was extremely compassionate when a hard decision needed to be made. Scooter and I were treated with the utmost of respect and I could not have asked for more. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! -

When I found out one of my ferret babies was going to need surgery I was so scared. All I knew is that my baby was sick and I didn't know how to make her feel better. But the doctors and staff were so understanding. They were patient with my panic and loving to my baby when I couldn't be there. They didn't mind to let me sit in a room just holding her during my lunch break every day. Everyone from the front desk to the doctors understands pets and their owners. Needless to say I am a huge fan and would never even consider another vet for any of my animals! -

When my 2 daughters finally saved up enough allowance to each buy a parakeet, I needed to find an avian vet. I was so happy to find Dr. Delong right in my area! Our first appointment was an absolute pleasure! He spent almost an hour examining both birds and teaching us about their care. Since then, we now bring our lab puppy to him, and will be bringing in our rabbits soon. We love VCA and Dr. Delong! -

I've had animals my entire life; small rodents, countless dogs and cats, parrots, and show horses. Needless to say I have known my share of veterinarians and while I've almost always been pleased with the services I've received, I've never felt the need to tout one clinic or Dr. over another.

Drs. DeLong and Thompson have developed one of the most caring (for both humans and animals) environments I've ever been exposed to. They aren't just Drs., they are true animal lovers and I appreciate the confidence and concern they give me on every visit. I've been a client for over 7 years and I recommend this clinic to anyone who is seeking a personal, caring, gentle and trusting environment for their loved pets. -

I take my African Gray Congo, Reuben to Dr. DeLong even though it is 70 miles away. He saved Rubes life when he contracted a severe respiratory infection two years ago. He got Ruby through it and me too!! Drs. DeLong, Thompson and the entire Avalon staff are the most compassionate and dedicated people I have ever used for veterinary service. God Bless them. -
Extra Mile

On my way to the check up with my son's Bearded Dragon, Spike, I was in a car accident about a mile from the office. The ambulance couldn't take Spike in the ambulance with me. Someone from VCA came to the accident scene and picked up Spike and made sure he was OK after the accident. Now that's going the extra mile! Thanks -
Very Compassionate

On Saturday 11-19-2011 we had to make a difficult decision to put our beloved dog of 15 years down. This was our first time meeting Dr. Moon. She was so kind and compassionate. She spent quality time with us to go over the different options for our pet. I wanted to be with my dog till the end. Dr. Moon explained everything so that we would know what to expect. Bitsy's passing was peaceful having Dr. Moon there, and wonderful Maryann gave me hugs and support. All the staff is just top notch. They gave us plenty of time before and after to be with our dog.
