Dr Donald DeLong is a 1994 graduate of the University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine. He opened Avalon Animal Hospital in 1997 & enjoyed building his practice until merging his practice with another hospital & joining VCA in 2009. He is a member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians and the Association of Amphibian and Reptile Veterinarians. Dr Delong resides with his wife, Dr Dawn Delong and their three children.


"I love interacting with people and their pets. It's a true passion of mine. I am an advocate for the animal and it's my job to solve the puzzle of what is wrong with them. Each case is different and sometimes it involves thinking outside the box. I raised many large parrot before I became a veterinarian."
