"I have always had a strong interest and passion for caring for animals. I tended to hamsters, cats, dogs, and rabbits of my own from an early age. I became interested in the veterinary field in college where I began working for a holistic veterinary practice as a kennel assistant. It was there that I fell in love with veterinary medicine. Over time, I advanced to become a technician and decided to go to veterinary school. In school, I became more interested in exotic medicine and found Dr. Delong's practice, Avalon. I worked several years as a veterinary student there prior to merging into VCA with Heart of Gwinnett. After graduation, I pursued experience in holistic veterinary medicine and completed my acupuncture certification through IVAS (International Veterinary Acupuncture Society). I then came full-circle as I transitioned from part-time to full-time here at VCA Avalon Heart of Gwinnett Animal Hospital. I truly enjoy practicing small animal and exotic medicine and surgery with the team here."
