  • Elbow surgery

    -Penny from Campton Hills, IL
    Pet Name: Daisy

In early 2011 we were lucky enough to adopt a beautiful Golden Retriever puppy. We named her Daisy. When she was only four months old we noticed her limping. Through a series of visits to several veterinarian surgeons, we were advised that she needed surgery to correct abnormalities in her elbows. We were advised that even with the surgery, she may not have full use of her front legs. Of the surgeons we consulted, we were most comfortable with Dr. Abel. Right before Thanksgiving 2011, Dr. Abel performed the surgery. I am delighted to report that after her recovery time, she has gained full, painless use of her front legs. Prior to her surgery, she had a difficult time keeping up with her littermates. Now, she enjoys running, jumping and swimming with abandon. Thank you, Dr. Abel.

  • VCA saved our pet's life on New Year's Day

    -Meredith from West Chicago, IL

Our cat, Jett, has been a patient of Dr. Orr's for over a year and I cannot express how much we appreciate his services and especially his "bedside" manner with us and Jett. I also wanted to let you know our gratitude for the VCA Aurora staff overall as well. On New Year's Day morning, I found that Jett was in congestive heart failure. He recently had received a new pacemaker and lead from U of W, however, as happened the first time, it appeared that perhaps scar tissue had built-up and not allowing the pacemaker to fully capture his heart. So we rushed to VCA around 0630 that morning; on the way we called the hospital, to notify them we were on our way. I cannot tell you how good it felt that staff were waiting for us in the lobby ready to help Jett. Also, Dr. Morse and staff were able to have the Medtronic rep in that day (a holiday of all things) to help reset Jett's pacemaker. I also appreciate that while Dr. Orr was off that day, he was also very involved in our situation as well. The staff were consistently calling us with updates and I knew he was in good hands. I really believed all persons involved helped to save his life that day. Again, thank you for providing these services and for having such wonderful, compassionate staff. Happy New Year to everyone as you have given us a great start to ours! Meredith, Russ and Jett Wayant

  • Very Sad Day

-Carol Reed from El Paso, IL
    Pet Name: Katie

My special Katie (golden retriever) was diagnosed with insulinoma in March, 2011. I want to thank Dr. Shawna Green and all staff at VCA Aurora who were involved in her surgery in March, 2011, as they gave us 14 months that were wonderful. And, when things went bad on June 8, 2012, and we had to put her to sleep, Dr. Tonozi was so very helpful to us. I highly recommend VCA Aurora and appreciate all they did for us.

  • Highly Recommend

    -Mary Stillo from Chicago, IL
    Pet Name: Sophie

Pet Image My 1 yr old maltipoo, Sophie, had been having recurring eye pain/swelling for about three months and over 7 vet visits. Finally, we were introduced to Dr. Swinger. He let us sit in the room while he examined both of her eyes and even asked me to come look what he had found. To me, that showed extreme confidence and gave me a higher level of comfort. While it was hard leaving her for surgery, the nurse that I left her with was so warm and even told me I could call whenever I wanted just to check in. After the surgery, she took time to make sure I really understood the recovery and answered all of my questions. I would gladly recommend VCA to anyone. The facilities were very clean and everyone made us feel wonderful about being there—even under the circumstances!

  • A Sad day for us

-gina marie vlach from naperville, IL
    Pet Name: Bud

Our Bud passed away 10/29/11, we had to put him down as he couldn't walk anymore. We brought him to VCA to do a neurological exam on him, and found out he might have a tumor on his spine. We received a very nice card from VCA, and I just wanted to say thank you. We miss our precious boy Bud so much, and it hurts us not to have him here...but we know he is in heaven watching over us. Thank you for the nice card, it meant a lot.

  • Thank you for your compassion

    -Laura from Naperville, IL
    Pet Name: Katie

Pet Image We discovered that our beloved pet had passed away in the wee hours of the morning. We didn't know quite what to do with her, plus we were shocked and heartbroken. We called VCA and they were very kind and took care of our dog for us. A couple days later we received a very nice card with our puppy's paw print on it to remember her by. Thank you for taking the burden of what to do with her away from us and for being so kind about it.

  • A Silver Lining ...

-Michelle, Dan, and Bella from Naperville, IL
    Pet Name: Bella

Pet Image We discovered VCA during an emergency situation. Our dog, Bella, had a TPLO surgery performed (at a different vet hospital) and it seemed some complications arose. Dr Peacock and his staff were able to fix Bella's leg and perform a corrective surgery to get her back on track with the healing process.

Thanks to Dr Peacock's expertise and quick actions, Bella can now enjoy the rest of her summer!

  • VCA Was There When My Pet Needed Them

    -Anna Suski from Naperville, IL

One late Saturday afternoon my child left our gate opened and our greyhound, thinking it was race time, bolted out of our yard. We caught up to her just as she got hit by a car. My vet was closed but I was fortunate to find that VCA Aurora was open 24 hours. When we got her there, they had the resources to do x-rays and suture her wounds. If VCA Aurora wasn't there I'm sure my pet would have died waiting for an animal hospital to open Monday morning. They are truly life savers.

  • Forgever Grateful

    -Karianne Pejskar from Aurora, IL

On behalf of me and the entire family of Ziggy Pejskar, I would like to thank the medical team in ICU for all their love, compassion, and unwavering efforts to try and give my Ziggy a second chance at life. While my baby lost his battle, I am forever grateful to the entire VCA medical team for doing everything they could. I am grateful for their enthusiasm during the high points and for experiencing the pain with me as we all had to say good-bye. I highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for quality pet care. To me, the VCA medical team is the best of the best.
