Dr. Sally Slomer-Fickes, DVM, Medical Director

Dr. Sally Slomer-Fickes has been the Medical Director at VCA Ashford since arriving in 2000. She grew up in the Houston community. Her early interest in veterinary medicine became proactive when she began working as a veterinary assistant in high school at the age of 15. After earning her BS in 1976, she continued on to veterinary college. After graduating with her DVM in 1979, she worked as an associate veterinarian. Then in 1981, she established her own practice, Alief-Bellaire Animal Clinic, known as a progressive community hospital and AAHA certified since 1983.
Dr. Slomer has served the veterinary profession on the Harris County Veterinary Association board of directors, and she is a member of the Texas Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Slomer has two children, two dogs and four cats.
