    Daphne Brown

My name is Daphne Brown and I have managed this amazing team of professionals and hospital since 2007. I grew up in Houston but moved to Phoenix Arizona with my family in the late 70’s. I began working in this field right after finishing Vet Tech School in 1982. Thirty years ago there were only a few such schools in the country and looking back I’m sure I won the lottery. I started my long career working for an Emergency Hospital helping critical care and trauma patients. It was the most emotional, eye opening, challenging and rewarding experience. I loved it! I decided after 5 years I wanted and needed to see a healthy puppy or a healthy kitten so I slowly transitioned into day practice. I worked in Phoenix for another six years as a tech and managing a Veterinary Clinic. After years of sun worshiping I decided to pack up and move back to Houston in 1994. I can honestly say I don’t miss the “Dry Heat” at all. On a more personal note, I have two beautiful daughters that grew up in a home with many different types of animals over the years. They have families of their own now, that include four legged furry babies. I also have two granddaughters and a grandson on the way. Our family is forever growing.Currently I have four geriatric cats, an 18 year old, a 14 year old, a 10year old and the youngest is 8.I don’t have a dog right now but I do have over ten land tortoises and turtles living in out door habitats in my backyard. They are very social and love the attention they get when we educate kids in the class room. “Turtles have feelings too” I enjoy fishing, art, traveling, DIY projects, and Netflix. A day hasn’t gone by that someone else’s pet or my own has not impacted my life in some incredible way. I can’t imagine a life without a loving, forgiving, loyal fur baby.
