Pet Name: AustinAlthough I live in Fallbrook, I have always taken my dogs to see Dr. Gordon as he was recommended to me because of his holistic approach to disease. I will tell you about my last dog Austin, who was 16 years old when he passed away this year. Last year, I had a terrible scare with Austin. Austin was choking in the middle of the night so I took him to the local emergency hospital. The vet there told me he had a major heart problem and that she would have to operate immediately. I was not comfortable with this, so I picked Austin up and took him the next day to a specialist in the area. After an ultrasound, the second vet found a different problem (with his adrenal gland) and said that Austin would need surgery on this tumor within the week. By that time, Austin was in terrible shape and very weak. He was coughing all the time, and not eating. I called Dr. Gordon at Arroyo and he said to bring Austin in immediately. I had to literally carry the dog in. Dr. Gordon ran a battery of tests. He showed me the x-rays and explained to me that, although Austin did have these other problems the specialists were concerned about, the real reason Austin was not doing well was that Austin had very severe pneumonia. I am not sure how Dr. Gordon did it, but after a day in the hospital with IV fluid therapy, IV antibiotics, acupuncture, and other treatments, Austin was able to walk out of the animal hospital! He went on to live for another 18 months and was happy and healthy until the end.

Dr. Gordon approached Barneys issues on a more holistic level. We started vitamin therapy and weekly acupuncture. The results were amazing. His condition became manageable. Barney was up and rolling for another 3 years. Barney has crossed the rainbow bridge and I am forever grateful for the care and compassion of the staff at VCA Arroyo Animal Hospital. I now have nine rescued furry friends and I totally entrust their well-being to Arroyo. This is a beautiful facility and the level of care your pet receives is beyond excellent. I will never go anywhere else.

So if you are looking for a great place look no further then VCA Arroyo animal hospital for all your pets needs.

Pet Name: CammieI switched to VCA Arroyo after having a series of negative experiences with my former vet, which left me with a lack of confidence in my dog's future medical care (as well as my diabetic cat's-another story ^-^). My dog had a Grade 1 tumor on her head which needed to be removed. Cammie fell under the care of Dr. Holden at VCA Arroyo, and fast forward to today, when she just got her stitches out. Cammie's her same waggy self. I found Dr. Holden's professional yet personal client interaction to be excellent. I felt immediately at ease with her and confident enough for her to perform surgery on my dog. I was not disappointed. She is very sharp and very easy to communicate with. She told me all I needed to know about my dog's condition and very graciously answered all my questions. Cammie gives two paws up - thank you, Dr. Holden.

In that time I've had to say goodbye to 3 of my pets, two in just the last few months, Dexter and Thor. while extremely sad, I know they were in the best of hands.Dr. Gordon's combination of holistic and medical applications to situations is the best, for our animal companions, in my opinion. And his honest and straight forward manner of explaining the options and outcomes makes it easy to trust him and builds confidence in his clients. I just found this amazing place! I found them on the internet and made an appt originally because they were open so late. Within 2 weeks I ended up having to bring both my cats in. And now I will never go anywhere else. Unfortunately I had to let go of my 17 year old cat, Ernie. Dr. Holden was awesome with him and with me. I appreciate so much her compassion and concern. The entire staff was so caring. It was the best place for me to spend the worst day...

Pet Name: PatchesBeing new to Southern Calif, leaving our vet back home, I thought I would lose my Patches before I could find a vet she liked and I trusted. She had a cyst removed in her shoulder several years ago, then another cyst on her front arm last October. I was told it was likely they spread back into her shoulder and was probably a very aggressive cancer. suddenly, one day Patches couldn't even get up anymore, without being lifted and carried. My husband found VCA Arroyo on the internet and made the appt for me. I was very hesitant, and didn't even know where I was going. I got off work late, so was going to be late for the appt. I called and they were so nice and understanding. When I got there I knew Patches couldn't get out of the car. The tech(I'm sorry I can't remember her name) offered to come out to help me get her out of the car. Patches never met her before but I could tell she was at ease with her from the start. They spent over an hour and a half with us, gave us some pain meds, and whole lot of love, and the next day Patches was wagging her tail and getting up and about with no trouble. I have no idea what was wrong, or what they did -other than show us Patches has a lot more time here with us - they worked a miracle cuz I thought her time was done. She is still doing great on her new diet and has more energy than she has had in years! Thanks so much!
