Certified Veterinary TechnicianBernadette Mazur
Bernadette graduated from Joliet Junior College in 2005 and received her Associated Degree in Applied Science and became a Certified Veterinary Technician. While in school, she completed her externships at VCA Berwyn Animal Hospital in 2004 and VCA Aurora Animal Hospital in 2005. Bernadette joined VCA Arboretum View in 2007 and began working in the ER/ICU department. She currently works in the General Practice department. In her spare time, outside of work, she enjoys running, biking, cooking and baking.
Cheri started at VCA Arboretum View Animal Hospital in October of 1995 as a receptionist and quickly realized that she wanted to be more involved with the animals as well as their human companions. Through the years, Cheri has worked in all areas of the hospital, with the majority of her time spent in specialty surgery, internal medicine and general practice. She has recently moved into the integrative medicine department and her mission is to help patients recover from surgery and live the best quality of life they can. Cheri is married and shares her home with her yorkie, Wendell, Sushi, a rescued sulcata tortoise and Bennie, a rescued box turtle. In her free time, she enjoys music, travel and the great outdoors. Cheri is a strong supporter of veterinary pet insurance.
Nicole has been a technician since 1996, but joined the VCA Arboretum View family in February of 2006. She has worked in the ER/ICU and Dermatology departments, but currently calls General Practice her home. She very much enjoys working with the doctors to help them diagnose and manage dermatological cases. At the moment, she has a ball python, but hopes to get her French Bulldog very soon.
Marissa attended and graduated fro the Vet Tech Institute at Fox College in 2012 and joined the VCA Arboretum View team in 2014. She works mainly in the General Practice and General Practice surgery departments. Before VCA, Marissa worked at an animal control facility and at a 24 hour hospital with an attached humane society which taught her a lot about being an advocate for animals and finding ways to enrich animals' lives. In her spare time, Marissa enjoys spending time with her friends, family, her boyfriend and their three pets, a miniature American Eskimo dog (Chloe Mo), a Boxer, (Hiccup) and a tortoise shell cat (Olive), who she loves very much.
