    Crysty Perkins
    School: VA Tech, Animal Science

Crysty worked with VCA ACA for about a year as a veterinary assistant and moved into management in August of 2013.  Crysty graduated from Virginia Tech in 2007 with a Bachelor of Animal Science. She has over 13 years of experience in the animal field, working at the Richmond SPCA, Ambassador Animal Hospital, and Prince George Animal Control. She has been to Tijuana, Chiapas, Thailand, Brazil, Germany, Tanzania, Morocco, Romania, and Belize over the years on mission trips with her church.  Crysty is also an avid photographer who enjoys volleyball, football, hiking, and pretty much anything outdoors.   She has 4 dogs-Timo, Berk, Cyrus, and Tiki as well as 3 cats-Huck, Marmalade, and Mishka.  Back in September of 2012 she gave birth to her first child, a son, who has given her a new purpose for living.

"Asking why I do what I do takes into account so many aspects of my life.  I am here because I feel that I was born with an innate passion for God's beautiful 4-footed creations.  I feel extremely blessed to be in a position in which I can support my incredible son while doing what I truly love.  Moving into management has opened my eyes to playing an entirely new role in the care and compassion for animals while also taking care of the amazing women that I am proud to call my team."
