Kara Van Voorhis, DVM, Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Van Voorhis is a native Washingtonian, having grown up on Bainbridge Island. She attended the University Washington where she received Bachelor of Science degrees in biological oceanography and zoology in 1997. She worked for several years as an oceanographer before returning to school and earning her DVM from Tufts University in 2008. Following graduation, she completed a one year internship at the VCA Veterinary Specialty Center of Seattle. Dr. Van Voorhis has been an emergency veterinarian at VCA Alpine since August, 2009 and is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, as well as the Emergency and Critical Care Society. She volunteers occasionally as a wildlife veterinarian with PAWS. She is very happy to be back in the Pacific Northwest and some of the activities she enjoys in her free time include hiking, running, playing lacrosse, kayaking, traveling, and swimming. Dr. Van Voorhis shares her home with her husband Henry and their two crazy cats, Madeline and Grover.
