  • Dr. Chang the Miracle Worker

    -Bailey from washington, DC
    Pet Name: Bailey

Pet Image Bailey, my 16 year old Brittany Spaniel seemed to be on his last leg due to a debilitating injury that caused both a ruptured disk and a pinched nerve. The left side of Bailey's body was impacted so severely he was unable to walk, stand or even sit. Despite medication to subside the pain he seemed to be declining. I was certain the best alternative may be to put him down since surgery was not an option - at least as intrusive as the one discussed. I took him to acupuncture which was highly recommended by the orthopedic surgeon, the neurosurgeon, and many friends. One session later, and 1.5 days wobbly legs, he was back on all fours and walking. Second session and he is better still although not as dramatic a change. He is almost back to his old ways. I expected him to live to 18 and beat the record for the oldest Brittany. And he may just do it... at least with Dr. Chang's help. Thank you so much!!!!

  • Our final goodbyes

-The Acuaveras from Ft. Wash., MD
    Pet Name: Katie

Pet Image Our family wishes to thank the staff of the VCA Alexandria Animal Hospital. We brought in Katie, our 11 year-old German shepard who was very ill. With thoughtfulness and compassion you helped us through the difficult decision of this, the hardest of crossroads. Allowing us to spend as much time with our precious family member helped us ease towards the inevitable. A few years ago we brought Katie's companion Trouble to you for emergency treatment, and the outcome was much happier. I can not speak highly enough for what you did for us now and in the past. We will always remain grateful to the staff at VCA. Thank you.

  • Gemma is feeling much better

-Peg and Paul Jackson from Alexandria, VA
    Pet Name: Gemma

Pet Image Many thanks for taking such good care of Gemma last week. She was in a lot of pain and we couldn't figure out what was the problem. I called AAH and was able to get an appointment that day. Dr. Cohen determined that Gemma's playfulness for her age (15) had caught up with her - and she had an inflamed disc. The medication soon got her back to normal - although we had to make sure she didn't jump on and off the sofa as much. Thank you so much!

  • Little Pee Wee

    Thanks!!!

  • You Are So Wonderful

    -Hicks Family from Alexandria, VA
    Pet Name: Frankie

Pet Image Thank you so much for saving Frankie's life. Words do not express how thankful we are. After a long road, she is back to her old frisky, stubborn self. Thanks especially to the ICU and ER staff for taking care of both her and us when we needed it the most.

  • Many Thanks

    -Alison from Falls Church, VA
    Pet Name: Tuna

Pet Image I cannot thank the emergency staff at VCA Alexandria enough for all of their help and care. I recently moved to the area from CT and had not yet found a vet when my cat Tuna became very sick. I took her in for an emergency visit. Her being suddenly sick was very traumatic and I was extremely upset when I arrived to the hospital, but the staff took care of her (and me) immediately. Unfortunately Tuna ended up needing to be euthanized, but Dr. Jeremy Dubin and the front desk staff could not have been more professional and helpful during that awful time. I knew that Tuna was in good hands, I cannot thank them enough for their patience (I was a total mess) and care for Tuna. I will absolutely be bringing my other kitty Vito in for his check up! Thank you again to Dr. Dubin and the staff.

  • My Rocky

    -Kathy Rose from Alexandria, VA
    Pet Name: Rocky

My cat Rocky had to be put to sleep on June 28, 2012. We brought him to VCA because our regular vet office was closed. I am so grateful to the staff for their kindness and compassion-especially Dr Gies. I knew he was in good hands from the moment we walked in. Thank you for taking such good care of my boy. Kathy Rose

  • Thank You

    -Phyllis Patch from Alexandria, VA
    Pet Name: Drey

Last week I brought my very much loved cat (Drey 12 yrs young) to your hospital. I guess I was hoping for a miracle and he would come home with me, sadly that was not the case. I do want to thank all of you for being so compassionate. He went to cat heaven peacefully. I miss him so much. Receiving his pawprint in clay was so comforting to me, I will remember him always.

  • Thank You

    -Beth E. from Alexandria, VA
    Pet Name: Francesca

Francesca came upstairs to the lobby from her last stay in October, she was SMILING, and seemed so much more content than she did when staying at other facilities.

  • Thank You

-Brenda Mitchell- Powell from Alexandria, VA
    Pet Name: Suzie

I want to tell you how pleased I am with the services I've received at AAH. In September 2010, we moved to Alexandria full time (we're from CT, but had a second home here in town), and I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to find a veterinary hospital as wonderful as the one we left behind. Prior to moving, I did a lot of research to locate a new facility for Suzie and Elle (at the time, I still had two Maltese) and was thrilled when I found AAH. But your veterinary services and the warmth and professionalism of the office staff have exceeded my expectations. When Suzie had her recent medical crisis, I was deeply moved by the concern and empathy of your staff. Members of the front-desk staff phoned to check up on Suzie and we were always cordially and enthusiastically greeted upon our arrival. Dr. Chiang was exceptional! She was so kind and thoughtful during our conversations and appointments, and I especially appreciated her willingness to provide me with all the medical details of Suzie's case. I will be forever grateful to her for her compassion and expertise. Suzie and I are both fond of Dr. Galvan, too, and the surgery Dr. Krochak performed on Suzie's left eye resolved issues that had plagued my baby for quite some time.

You and your staff are exceptional, and I'm thrilled to have found a facility that exceeds my expectations. Kudos to you all!

    Sincerely,

    Brenda Mitchell-Powell
