Michelle Shaver
Financial Manager
Michelle Shaver
Michelle is a true people person. She joined the staff of VCA Alameda East in 2005 after working on multiple seasons of Animals Planet’s Emergency Vets. She found that she loved the "Family Spirit" of the hospital and left her studied field of video and audio engineering to engage in the social aspect of the hospitals client service staff. She has since moved up in rank with the knowledge she gained working up front to become the Financial Manager for the hospital. She absolutely loves the interaction with all of our clients from talking with regulars in the lobby to meeting our new clients in the hospital and over the phone. Michelle is also the liaison between VCA Alameda East and Helping Hands, a non-profit organization that helps financially with care for pets in need. The joy she get when she sees pets receive the high quality care they need and their owners relief knowing they are able to provide that for their pets is amazing.
Michelle’s main interest is her family and friends. She is a wife and mother of two energetic little boys. She loves spending time with her family, from playing in the back yard or going to the mountains to watching movies or having indoor picnics, there is never a dull moment. She and her and her husband look forward to watching their children grow and find out what they are going to be interested in. The current interest for them is getting a dog! She has a cat named Luci but Luci doesn’t seem nearly as excited about the thought of having a dog move in as her little boys are.
The friendships she has made over the years with her co-workers is also something she values very much. With the bond of working in such an amazing place, the close friends she has made will be valued forever. There have been friends who have moved on but the family bond created at VCA Alameda East has kept them in touch and will for years.
Michelle loves what she gets to do every day and looks forward to spending the rest of her career with the VCA family of hospitals. "It’s great that I really enjoy to coming to work every day!" she says. "I’m so lucky to have found what I love doing and being able to couple that with working with a great staff and the wonderful pets that come in makes this hospital the amazing place that it is."
