VCA Airline Boulevard Animal Hospital

Dr. Heather Conyers, DVM, Staff Veterinarian

DVM, Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine

My Home town is Fredericksburg Virginia where I still have my family and try to visit often. Growing up on the Potomac River, I have a passion for the water. I love fossil hunts along the Potomac shoreline with my husband and two children. I also enjoy hiking in the Virginia Mountains whenever I can. I also love to read. My favorite authors are Phillipa Gregory and Dan Brown. I love reading about historical mysteries and conspiracy theories. My favorite animals are dogs (especially the small ones!) and cats. I graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional of College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. I have worked mostly in the Tidewater area of Virginia. I enjoy surgery and helping sick patients , but sharing knowledge with pet parents about how to keep their fury children healthy is the most important role I play as a veterinarian.. There is so much wrong information out there about food, vaccines and preventative care that it can be so confusing for the general public.

Specialty Care

Sometimes sick or injured pets need the care of a veterinary medical specialist. When that happens, VCA specialty hospitals work closely with the general practitioner veterinarians who refer cases to us in order to provide seamless veterinary care to your pet. When your pet is facing any kind of serious illness or injury, our specialty referral hospitals will provide the compassionate and expert care your beloved pet needs.

Our goal is to make sure that when you and your pet are in need that you have access to board certified specialists who are up to date on the very latest developments in their field. In our state of the art hospitals, our specialists also have access to the most sophisticated diagnostic and treatment tools and techniques from ultrasonography and endoscopy to CAT scans and even MRI.

As part of the VCA family, we have over 83 specialty hospitals across the US and Canada which provide referral specialty care, so there may be one near you.
