Pet Name: Rusty
I knew Terry was doing a great job of getting our poodle puppy used to grooming. He loves to come to the vets and gets so excited when Terry appears. Shes even taken the time to calm him for a vet exam. I've also been very pleased with Terry's cuts and ear hair removal, but I didn't really realize what a truly excellent job Terry did until I went to the Rose City Classic. The puppy ring there had pathetic grooming; the poms werent symmetrical, feet unevenly shaved, and razer marks visible on the flanks. My pet quality confirmation dog would have taken the Blue on grooming alone.
Last week Terry reinterviewed me and we decided on a short cut since poodle is starting water retriever training. This pic is uncombed & muddy. A cut for his lifestyle.

VCA 12 Mile Animal Hospital is the most caring facility I have ever been in. The doctors and staff are all about quality medicine and a voice for our pets. I didn't want blood work on my 14 year old cat "Thomas" but when they explained the reasons why the importance on... I felt health pet. I went ahead and did one of thier senior packages (labwork to me). I was amazed to find out "Thomas" had the beginnings of kidney disease. Knowing this we put Thomas on a prescription diet for kidneys and because it was caught before the signs showed up he does not need daily medications. Thank you all for what I think is the best doctors and staff I have ever known.

Pet Name: Momma
Our dog named Momma is 9 years old and on July 3rd 2010 a few young adults went into the wilderness with Momma they were dog sitting for us for just the weekend and had decided to take her camping with them. During a hike my dog got separated from them and was lost, no where to be found.
We were devastated when we got home and heard the news that Momma was missing in the mountains. We had search teams out looking for her day and night, our adult children stayed in the mountains until very late every night in hopes Momma would hear our calls.
I shared my devastation and concern with the staff at 12 Mile that if she was found she didn't have any identification to get her back home. I asked for help on what I could do and VCA 12 Mile sent the flyers to everywhere including Parks Departments and camp grounds.
On July 13th Momma was found, she came walking into a parks dept. outside of Estacada, She was dirty, covered in ticks, much thinner, but happy to see a human again. Immediately we got Momma to VCA 12 Mile where Dr. Kennard and staff dropped everything and checked her over, she was a bit sore, had a broken canine tooth, scratched up a little and her pads of her feet were a bit worn and raw, but surprisingly in good shape. The doctor ordered up some blood work to ensure her overall health was okay. Dr. Kennard put her on bed rest and sent her home with some pain meds. Momma is home, happy, and it just shows the love you give and get from your pets is very valuable.
I would like to make sure everyone is aware of the importance of Microchips for our pets, a small device is implanted into your pet, as simple as giving a vaccine. Thank you 12 Mile for all your help in getting her back and keeping her safe.
